Biography

Pollen Nation is the brainchild of florist and businesswoman Alison Trickey.

Alison grew up surrounded by the dramatic landscape of Cornwall, conscious of the vibrant power of the natural world. Even so, her career in floristry was by no means a foregone conclusion.

It was only after a successful world and Olympic-class rowing career that her love affair with flowers truly began.

Perhaps it was memories of childhood floristry classes with her grandmother that spurred her; perhaps, as Alison herself says, it was the challenge: she sought out a simple Saturday job to learn the trade. And an unstoppable talent was revealed.

Three weeks after starting, she was designing for her first wedding client.

Today Alison’s creations have graced numerous weddings, parties, magazine editorials, family and corporate events for clients like Tatler Magazine and Christian Dior. Every project is a fresh challenge to sensitively style a space in new ways, to push the limits of what is possible, and exe-cute it all beautifully while staying true to her roots: “no matter the occasion, hard work, respect for the client and uncompromising quality are the backbone of the business.”
